Depends on your preferred genre. I'll throw some titles at you, though:
Minecraft
Swat 4 (Expansion pack is superior for multiplayer)
Chantelise
Terranigma
Bad Company 2...
If you want to make videos, though, Swat 4 with friends makes for some hilarious shit. My friend and I play it often and "This is why we will never be SWAT" is our mantra.

Like the other people said, hard to tell without knowing your gaming history. That link up there is a desktop defense game. Can become addictive.
Dragon age isn't exactly new (2009)
but it is great
well i like sorta sandbox games, rpgs a few fps stuff like that.
try and play some old classics, It's what I do when I'm bored
